I was born in 1969. I grew up in the town of Carrollton, GA. I first noticed my love for comics in 1978 when I discovered Jim Davis’s “Garfield.” I used to redraw the comics in my school notebooks and sometimes even create my own gags with his characters. I soon found myself a comic book collector. I loved Marvel comics and I loved creating my own universe of heroes and villains. My high school art teacher, Mr. John Beckvermit, always encouraged me to pursue my artistic talents. After high school I quickly got married and I joined the US Army from 1987 to 1991, serving during Desert Storm. When I finished my tour I found myself back in Georgia and itching to learn more about illustration. The opportunity to move closer to Atlanta had me interested in going to Art School so I enrolled in The Art Institute of Atlanta and graduated with an Associate Degree in 1993. Since then I’ve been busy raising three beautiful children and working hard to support my family. I’ve drawn now and then in the past twenty years but life got in the way a lot of the time. Recently I rediscovered “Vinnie”, A character I created years earlier in some old drawing notebooks, the rest is history, as they say. Thank you for taking the time to read my little bio and I hope you enjoy the comic.
